We were asked for a YouTube-link for promotional purposes. So we took some still photos and put together a little video for the MADELAINE single. Of course it’s not a real music video (we would have loved to do one but we don’t seem able to find the time right now) but maybe it’s fun to watch anyway:

LOVESICK ZOMBIE / the lyrics

Thanks to everybody who has supported us with our first release! For those who enjoyed our music so far here’s the full lyrics to “Lovesick Zombie”, the B-side of our current single “Madelaine”:

Lovesick Zombie Lyrics Blood.jpg

Shy away from light / Lost in the night

Stare at the wall / Rise just to fall

Is this the way it’s supposed to be? / Is this the way it’s supposed to be?
Is this the way it’s supposed to be? / Is this the way it’s supposed to be?

Daze but don’t dream / Groan, never scream
Hit in the skull / The world is so dull

Is this the way it’s supposed to be? / Is this the way it’s supposed to be?

MADELAINE has been released today

M  Mback

Our first single “Madelaine / Lovesick Zombie” has been released today as planned. We are rather satisfied and also pleasantly surprised how well the sound transfer from home recordings to streaming and download files has turned out.

It is already available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer and other download and streaming platforms. It’s not out on Amazon yet. Please check them out, enjoy the music and support the starving artists! Just kidding – this is a fun project and most of the time we’re eating more than a fair share of the world’s food supply  …

A limited vinyl edition is available in our store.

Release date for MADELAINE set!

Madelaine Rebeat Artist.jpg

The release date for the MADELAINE single has been set for March 31st.

Yesterday we sent all the digital files to our aggregator REBEAT. From there they will be uploaded to major download and streaming platforms, including the likes of iTunes, Spotify, Amazon or Deezer.

The actual date of availability can differ up to a few weeks from platform to platform but we hope that the release will be up on many sites as planned.

Welcome to our new homepage!

To prepare for the forthcoming release of our first single MADELAINE we have decided to relaunch our homepage. It contains more information now and is easier to navigate as well as slightly more elegant in design.

Most of the content of the old page has been transferred, including parts of the news section.

As of now the old homepage will not be updated  anymore and will be replaced by a disclaimer.

Madelaine/Lovesick Zombie – the 7″ records have arrived.

Today the 7″ vinyl records for our first single release MADELAINE / LOVESICK ZOMBIE have arrived from our German pressing plant at MY45. We have ordered a limited edition of 200 copies that will be available in our store soon. The release date will correspond with the date of the streaming and download releases.

The records look fine, the audio quality of the digital files did not translate to vinyl as well as we hoped it would. I guess we still have to learn a lot about mixing and mastering for vinyl. Still it feels great to hold your first self produced 7″ record in your hands. We hope the record will be appreciated as a collector’s item and as a fan tribute to Paul Roland’s music despite some technical flaws.

Forthcoming release/mixing & mastering

Mixing and mastering of the two tracks “Madelaine” and “Lovesick Zombie” on our first single has been finished. That was no small feat regarding the fact that we’re but musical amateurs and this is our first foray into producing a record.

We will now send the files and the artwork to the vinyl pressing plant for the limited 7″ vinyl edition. We ordered 200 copies. Hopefully that will turn out well.

Our next release: MADELAINE

We’re happy to announce our next release. It will be our first self produced single on 3:30 MusiC. The A side will be a cover version of Paul Roland’s song “Madelaine” from his 1985 album HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS.

We’re incredibly proud and honoured to have the blessing of the master himself for this release. In our version we have taken some liberties with the song structure, so of course we asked Paul for his permission for the publication. And here’s what he wrote back:

“[…] I think your version is smart, charming and witty. I am also touched by your passion and am very happy indeed to think that my music has meant something to you all these years. […]”

It will take some time until the actual release because we are planning a limited vinyl edition in addition to the regular download and streaming releases.

In the meanwhile you can listen to Paul’s original version of MADELAINE via the Spotify link below (you will have to log in if you want to hear more than just a sample). Don’t forget to check out all of Paul’s other music. Over the years he has published some of the best pop songs ever written.
